The Fisheries Biotechnology Center (FBC) is instituted at the National Fisheries        Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), the research arm of the Bureau of     Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and presently stationed at BFAR-NFFTC, CLSU Compound, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. Its establishment is in response to the Administrative Order (AO) 21 series of 2005 of the Department of Agriculture (DA). The AO 06 of 2015 supersedes AO 21 of 2005 in providing a strengthened agricultural biotechnology R and D agenda. FBC is  in support to the DA-Biotech Program and its goal to implement a rationalized, effective and efficient research and development agenda that generate improved agricultural technologies and productivity and enhance commercial potential value and activities for crops, livestock and fisheries.
